Adoption Process

Apply if you are ready to adopt a dog or cat.

We require a home visit and only place our dogs and cats within 90 minutes of Chester, NJ.

​

You do not have to name a specific adoptable dog or adoptable cat at the time you submit your application.

​If you apply for a specific adoptable dog or cat we cannot promise he/she will be available or a good fit for your family at the time you apply; rest assured we will work diligently with you to find an amazing adoptable dog or cat that is 'PERFECT' for you.

Dogs: Adult dog adoption fee: $425, Senior dogs  9 yrs older: $225. 

All dogs are FULLY vetted by a licensed veterinarian; spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and receive vaccinations: Rabies - Distemper - Bordetella - Leptospirosis
 

Puppies: Adoption fee: $450 (up to 12 months)

- same vetting as adult dogs and age-appropriate vaccines and spay/neuter

Kittens: Adoption fee:  $175  Adult Cats: $150.  All are tested for FELV and FIV,  receive core vaccines,  rabies,  FVRCP, and are dewormed. All are spayed/neutered and microchipped.

Our Adoption Process

We receive a lot of emails, Facebook & Instagram messages and comments about our adoptable pets saying 'We'll take him/her'. We always ask that an application be submitted, but many potential adopters never do.  

​

An adoption application is the first step for us. There is no fee to apply and it takes about 10 minutes.

We are a foster-based rescue, meaning most of our dogs live in homes and we do not have a facility to visit.  We meet potential adopters by appointment or at adoption events and never do same-day adoptions.

If your application is approved - we will set up a first visit with the pet and if everyone wants to proceed we will do a home visit.  If there are other pets involved we sometimes do multiple home visits. All members of the family must meet the dog before adoption.

The right fit is important not only for our adoptable dog but for your family! We believe that a slow process allows everyone to make an informed decision which supports a successful adoption.

After adoption, we continue to work along with you to insure a smooth transition and future.

As a very small rescue we do our best to review your application within 3-5 days.
